What Cbd Oil Experts Don’t Want You To Know

CBD products can be found anywhere these days. You can buy CBD oils and edibles in every gas station, drugstore, or coffee shop or online from the websites like Serene Tree. That brings up the question: what is CBD (Cannabidiol)?

CBD stands for cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive compound found in hemp, or in other words, marijuana. It’s one of 400 compounds found in this plant, and it has some amazing medical properties. People use it to relieve symptoms of anxiety, depression, inflammation, chronic pain, insomnia, and more.

The science behind these claims is still questionable because we didn’t have enough research on CBD products. However, one thing is for sure; not all CBD products are made to the highest industry standards. Here are some things about these products you won’t hear from the experts.

CBD Products are Often Mislabeled

The problem with CBD products is that they are not currently regulated by the FDA or any other government regulatory body. That leads to a massive mislabeling of products since there are no testing requirements for CBD products’ ingredients. Furthermore, there’s also a lack of testing for harmful substances like pesticides, contaminants, and heavy metals.

That leads to many mislabeled products about their dosage and content information. For example, a 600mg bottle of CBD misleads people into thinking that they get a batch of potent oil, but each dose is only 5 to 20 mg. Some manufacturers use a synthetic version of hemp, which hospitalized more than 50 people in Utah back in 2018. People didn’t know that the product was made from synthetic ingredients. A study done by JAMA found that 7 out of 10 CBD products don’t have accurate labeling. That makes it harder to find products with accurate labels and safe ingredients.

In fact, it’s recommended to search for the best dose as per your needs by using the THC dosage calculator.

The Hype is Stronger than the Science Behind CBD

While CBD products do offer all kinds of health benefits, users have much higher expectations than what’s real. Many CBD products claim that they are the solution for all sorts of health conditions, but science says that their promises are often without any proof. FDA has approved only one CBD drug called Epidiolex. Today, it’s the only drug that made it through clinical research, and it’s proven to help relieve symptoms of Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (rare forms of epilepsy). Everything else is based on user reviews, without the proper research to back it up.

The problem is in the way law sees cannabis. It’s currently listed as a schedule 1 substance, which means that the state thinks it’s unsafe and without any medical properties. Instead of researching the benefits of cannabis, the state is mostly researching only its drawbacks. In other words, they didn’t isolate CBD to see how it impacts health.

We are yet to see proper research on the benefits of CBD. Some private research centers found that CBD helps to relieve symptoms of chronic pain, spasm, MS, nausea, and so on. The FDA is yet to check those facts.

The sad reality is that CBD is going to stay an alternative “drug” until the government goes through with the testing phase. The official view is that people should avoid CBD products because they are not regulated and could lead to health issues.

The Consumers Should Take Full Responsibility

Many major organizations are working around the clock to research CBD products and create federal laws and regulations. That could take years to complete, and until then, the consumers have to make their own choices based on available information. There are many different CBD product manufacturers, but there is always a way you can tell which ones use the highest industry standards in the manufacturing process.

Companies that include third-party testing in multiple labs and make their findings public can be trusted. They want to inform their users about the ingredients found in their products, which says a lot about their quality.

Furthermore, companies that want to ensure product quality apply for U.S. Hemp Authority authentication, which can cost tens of thousands of dollars. There are about 30 certified hemp farmers so far. The organization also certifies CBD products like edibles, supplements, cosmetics, and beverages. They don’t work with smokable CBD products and advise that you should wait until things become regulated.

The best way you can check if a product is certified is by going to its website. Look for official certifications and lab testing results. If they are visible for everyone to see, the company can be trusted. Still, you are the only person taking responsibility when using CBD products.

Bright New Future

It’s certain that FDA and other organizations will soon fully regulate CBD products available on the market. Many of the products you can buy today are safe and made according to the highest industry standards. Sadly, until some extensive studies on the effects of CBD take place, many people will continue to suffer from health issues that would otherwise disappear in days.
