Try this quick and easy treat, with several different uses:
MM Yogurt Toppin’
I) 3 TBSP green ‘bud’der
1 1/2 TBSP brown sugar
1 1/2 TBSP honey
1/2 TBSP cinnamon
II) 1 cup Grape Nuts cereal
1/2 cup wheat germ
A) Melt ‘bud’der in saute pan, then stir in rest of step I, heat for 1 minute while shaking pan back and forth.
B) Stir in step II, and stir well by shaking pan to evenly coat everything, cook another 2-3 minutes stirring constantly.
C) Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper and pour out the mixture and spread out evenly. Let it cool down, stirring it up one more time to break up any clumps. Store in glass airtight container once cooled down. Makes 1 1/2 cups.
D) Use 1/4 – 1/2 cup on your morning yogurt, or as a late night ice cream topping. It is even good mixed in cooked oatmeal for a bit of crunch.
(Mix it up with 1 cup unsalted peanuts or mixed nuts, 1/2 cup raisins, 1/2 cup dried cranberries, 1/3 cup shelled sunflower seeds, 1/3 cup pumpkin seeds, 1/2 cup M&M’s, for use as an hiking snack, or afternoon snack. Just make sure no children can get into it!)
Sorry, I ment to post this yesterday, it’s no fun re-bounding at my age, and takes so much longer to get things moving again. I’m going to do some more recipe testing real soon, and cant wait to share what I’ve been up to in da Bitchin’ Kitchen!
