Dr. Sterner is a native to San Diego since 1963; he graduated from Point Loma High School, received his undergraduate degree from Harvard and trained at UCLA Medical School and UCSD Medical in surgery. Dr. Sterner began his Medical practice in 1983 doing house calls in San Diego specializing in Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation and Optimal Wellness through Weight Management. Dr. Sterner soon opened an office in Old Town and in 1997 was the first physician in San Diego to offer Medical Marijuana Evaluations. In early 2000 he learned how to inject Botox for reduction of fine lines in the forehead, frown and crow’s feet and Anti-Aging medicine evolved into his Alternative Health Clinic. Since 2005 Dr. Sterner has integrated the principles of Sally Fallon the author of Nourishing Traditions and the co-founder of the Dr. Weston A Price Foundation into his Anti-Aging practice. This is a non-profit foundation committed to "restoring nutrient-dense foods to the American diet through education, research and activism". Dr. Sterner attributes his success to a method of critical thinking called the Trivium Method which he recommends his patients learn in collaboration with the community at Tragedy and Hope .
